My research focuses on human rights, health and civil society mobilization including the ethics, methodology and pedagogy of these topics. I am interested in questions of how, why and to what end civil society groups mobilize around health and human rights topics, what human rights mean in different contexts and how they are realized, and the methods, ethics and logistics of conducting such research. I am passionate about research that crosses disciplinary boundaries, such as the emerging field of social science research on health, and have a strong interest in multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary and experiential pedagogy. My research interests are at the intersection of the Political Science subfields of Comparative Politics and International Relations, and also interact with the fields of Public Health, Development Studies and Human Rights.
